Most people think that they are going to heaven.  It is not a matter of ”being good”.  Not stealing or hurting one or another, or voting the right way, are all good traits --- but salvation is only offered to those who believe in Christ. 

1)  SIMPLY TRUST:  For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  [John 3:16]

2) EVERYONE IS IN THE SAME BOAT:  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.  [Romans 3:23]

3) ETERNAL LIFE IS A FREE GIFT:   “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  [Romans 6:23]

4) CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY:  ”I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  [John 14:6]  

5) WORKING WON’T GET YOU THERE:  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.  [Ephesians 2:8-9]

6) OPEN THE DOOR:   “ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:  if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” [Rev 3:20]

Ask God into your life in your own words, or simply pray:  “God, I know that I have sinned, and can not make it to heaven without you.  Please forgive me of my sins, and make me a new creature.  Help me to turn from my sinful nature, and live my life for you. Help me to be the person you want me to be.  Thank you for your forgiveness.  Amen.”
